As a Business Controller, you play a key role in monitoring and improving the financial and operational performance of Charlie works. You work closely with and provide active support to our Finance Manager, helping to translate financial data into practical insights, well-founded decisions, and measurable improvements.In this role, you do much more than analyze figures and prepare reports. You actively identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities, take ownership of challenges, and contribute directly to implementing effective solutions.You understand how financial decisions affect the organization as a whole and consistently consider the company's interests, operational priorities, and long-term objectives.We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with a hands-on mentality. Someone who does not simply identify what could be improved, but takes the initiative to make improvements happen.This is a full-time position based at our Headquarters in The Hague.
Here is what you will be in charge of:
You actively support the Finance Manager in managing, monitoring, and improving the financial performance of Charlie works.
You analyze financial and operational results, identify trends, deviations, risks, and opportunities, and translate your findings into concrete recommendations and actions.
You take ownership of identified issues and proactively work with relevant departments to implement practical, effective, and sustainable solutions.
You prepare and improve financial reports, management information, forecasts, budgets, and KPI analyses, ensuring that management has accurate and relevant information for decision-making.
You monitor costs, margins, profitability, and operational efficiency, actively identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and reduce unnecessary expenses.
You investigate financial discrepancies and operational inefficiencies, determine their underlying causes, and take appropriate action to resolve them.
You work closely with operational teams and management to understand business processes, challenge existing practices where necessary, and contribute to continuous improvement.
You support the Finance Manager in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring business performance against financial objectives.
You contribute to improving financial processes, internal controls, reporting structures, and the overall reliability of financial information.
You actively participate in cross-departmental projects and improvement initiatives, ensuring that financial considerations and company-wide interests are properly represented.
You communicate financial insights clearly and effectively to both financial and non-financial colleagues, translating complex information into understandable and actionable advice.
You maintain a broad perspective on the organization, ensuring that recommendations and decisions contribute to the overall interests, efficiency, and long-term success of Charlie works.
