About the role
NORNORM is a fast-growing circular scale-up redefining the workspace industry through a subscription model that's better for people, businesses, and the planet. We help companies build flexible, Nordic-inspired workspaces, while keeping every piece of furniture in circulation for as long as possible. No waste, no compromise on design.
We're looking for a Spatial Designer & Workspace Specialist to join our Customer Team in Amsterdam, bringing great design to clients across Benelux and France.
This is a hands-on design role, delivering design proposals to our clients and participating in client meetings. You'll own your design decisions directly with clients, in Dutch, French or English, and make sure every design makes smart, circular use of our existing furniture inventory.
As our presence in France grows, you'll play a central role in how we design and deliver workspaces across the region, based in Amsterdam with regular travel to Paris.
What you'll be doing:
Create 2D and 3D workspace designs that meet client needs and NORNORM's density and value standards, while supporting our commercial goals
Translate client requirements into functional, aesthetic and scalable spatial solutions
Present and discuss design concepts in client meetings, supporting your Customer Team colleagues
Collaborate with our global Brand & Design team in Copenhagen to ensure NORNORM's design standards are upheld across Benelux and France
Align with the global Brand & Design team with input to product roadmap implications and new concept testing
Deliver design documentation to your Customer Team colleagues for pitch presentations and client communication
Act as a brand ambassador, making sure every layout reflects NORNORM's visual identity and customer promise
Support the Brand & Design team with creative input and feedback
Support with other regional design tasks, such as office design, trade fairs and event design
Support with ad hoc tasks more broadly or in other regions during non-peak periods
You bring the following qualifications:
Real experience in workspace or interior spatial design, and move comfortably between 2D and 3D tools
Can translate client requirements into functional, aesthetic and scalable design solutions
Think commercially, balancing great design with cost and sustainability trade-offs
Are a confident communicator who can present and discuss design ideas directly with clients
Are comfortable working cross-functionally with Design, Sales and clients
Are based in Amsterdam and happy to travel regularly, mainly to Paris, as we grow our focus on France
Are fluent in Dutch, English and potentially French, both written and spoken (Dutch and English are non-negotiable - French in addition is a strong plus).
Feel energized by the prospect of building design presence in a growing market.
Why join NORNORM?
Joining NORNORM means being part of something bigger: scaling circularity across the workspace industry, backed by curiosity, courage and collaboration. We're a purpose-driven company with strong values: we care, we dare, we do, we make simple easy. For you, that means real ownership over your designs from day one, a team that backs your decisions, and the freedom to get things done without unnecessary complexity.
If you're excited by great design, thrive in a scale-up environment and want to help us grow across Benelux and France, we'd love to hear from you. Please include a link to your portfolio with your application.
Practicalities
This is an Amsterdam-based role. You'll need to live in and work primarily from our Amsterdam office, with regular travel to clients throughout the Benelux, and also to Paris as we grow our focus on France.
We value flexibility, and you'll have plenty of freedom in how you work. But this role calls for being present: with clients on-site, with colleagues in Sales for day-to-day sparring, and generally close to what's happening across the business. As a rule of thumb, expect to be on-site at least four days a week.
