About the role

What you will do

Month-end close and reporting

  • Prepare journals, accruals and prepayment schedules under review
  • Run balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and follow up on what does not tie
  • Help build the monthly reporting pack — and, once you know it, own sections of it
  • Produce the first cut of variance analysis on revenue and OPEX by cost centre

Day-to-day finance operations

  • Process purchase invoices, match them to POs and keep vendor data clean
  • Support accounts receivable — invoicing, cash allocation and polite, persistent chasing
  • Review expense claims and credit card reconciliations against policy
  • Keep finance trackers and ERP data accurate, because every report downstream depends on it

Analysis and commercial finance

  • Pull together the data behind our SaaS metrics — ARR, churn, retention and cost per customer
  • Tidy and analyse pricing and discount data to support the annual price review
  • Build and maintain parts of the weekly performance dashboard
  • Answer the small, real questions that come in from Sales and Customer Success

Governance, audit and process

  • Pull samples and documentation for the external audit and for VAT filings
  • Document how a process actually works today — then propose how it should work
  • Find the manual step that everyone tolerates, and automate it

One project that is yours!

You'll own one project end to end, agreed with you in week two and chosen to match what you want on your CV. Examples: automate a report that currently takes a day a month, build a cost-per-customer model, or analyse discount leakage across a region. You scope it, you run it, and you present it to the finance leadership team in your final month. If you are writing a thesis, we will help you point it at a real dataset.

What you get

  • The opportunity to make an impact at a fast-growing SaaS scale-up;
  • Working closely with global leaders on multiple initiatives;
  • Flexible, hybrid hours that fit around your studies
  • A weekly one-to-one with your manager and a named buddy from day one

Company Description

At Sana Commerce, we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment because we know our diverse workforce is one of our greatest strengths.

Job description

At Sana Commerce, we simplify B2B commerce complexity, connect digital journeys, and provide intelligent guidance that helps manufacturers grow. We are a fast-moving SaaS company creating the future of connected commerce, looking for experienced professionals who are ready to take ownership of their careers and drive predictable outcomes for our customers.

Our goal is clear: we make digital B2B buying as trusted and guided as a conversation with a top sales rep. When commerce runs natively on the data the business already runs on, manual work disappears, trust returns, and manufacturers move beyond efficiency into true growth.

At Sana Commerce, we're looking for a Finance Working Student to help our global finance team close the books, sharpen our reporting and turn data into better decisions. You'll work on real processes from day one, sit in meetings where decisions get made, and own a project that shapes how finance supports the business.

What you'll bring

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's or MBA program in finance, accounting, economics or business administration, in any year of study. No prior finance experience is required.
  • Eligible to study and work in the Netherlands.
  • Available for 16 hours per week for a period of six months, with your hours built around your timetable and two days a week in our Rotterdam office.
  • Comfortable working in Excel. You don't need to be an expert, but PivotTables and lookups shouldn't frighten you.
  • A sharp eye for accuracy and genuine curiosity: you notice when a number is wrong, speak up, and ask why a number moved, not just what it is.
  • Clear written and spoken English.

Our values

At Sana Commerce, our values guide everything we do:

  • Champions of Our League – We balance quick wins with long-term success.
  • Supercharge Our Customers – We help our customers succeed by continuously improving their digital commerce experience.
  • Determined to Grow – We embrace challenges and keep raising the bar.
  • Bold Together – We achieve more by supporting one another.

Job descriptions don’t cover everything. Even if you do not meet every single requirement, we have ambitious plans and we value experienced professionals who share our vision and look forward to growing with us. If you believe your background is a strong match, we strongly encourage you to apply and include your motivation.

Questions about finance & insurance jobs in Rotterdam

How many finance & insurance jobs in Rotterdam are open right now?

12 at the moment, every one from an employer on the IND Public Register of Recognised Sponsors. A job leaves this page when the employer takes the posting down.

Can these employers sponsor my visa?

Yes. Being on the IND register means the employer may apply for a highly skilled migrant (kennismigrant) residence permit on your behalf. Whether a particular role comes with sponsorship is the employer's decision; the relocation badge marks postings that say so themselves, and we quote the sentence.

What salary do I need for a highly skilled migrant visa in 2026?

From 1 January 2026 the IND requires a gross monthly salary of €5,942 if you are 30 or older, €4,357 if you are under 30, and €3,122 for recent graduates of Dutch universities and orientation-year holders. Holiday allowance is not counted in these amounts.

Do I need to speak Dutch to work in Rotterdam?

Not for the jobs shown here: by default these are postings in English that do not ask for Dutch. If you speak Dutch, the listings in Dutch or asking for Dutch open up many more roles at the same sponsors.
