What we know about this job
Beyond Sports was founded in Alkmaar in 2014. We turn live player-tracking data into real-time 3D visualisations, so every position, sprint and pass becomes a virtual version of the match that can be broadcast, streamed or explored.
Our Emmy-winning technology has powered some of sport’s most talked-about broadcasts. These include NFL games reimagined as animated worlds and NHL games played out in blocky, game-style environments. Our clients include the NFL, NHL, NBA, Premier League and more.
Since 2022 we’ve been part of Sony Sports Technology, You’ll get the energy and ownership of a close-knit studio, backed by the reach and resources of one of the biggest names in entertainment. Our engine works on every screen, from traditional TV to mixed-reality headsets, so your work could reach fans wherever they watch.
We’re on the lookout for the next generation of engineers and product designers specialising in the following areas. From week one you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and designers on products used across the sports industry, owning real work in your discipline.
Mobile development: shipping matchday features for fans on Android and iOS.
Backend: building the services and data pipelines that keep live sports information flowing without a hitch.
Frontend: turning designs into fast, accessible interfaces that bring live sport to the browser.
Machine learning: cleaning and modelling sporting data, then turning it into predictions clients rely on.
QA: owning quality across our platforms, from test plans to automation that catches issues before fans do.
Product design: researching how fans and clients use our products, and designing what comes next.
Art, Unity and Unreal Engine development: creating virtual environments for live sports broadcasting.
When you apply, you’ll tell us which of these areas you want to work in, so we can match you with the right team.
We’re all about high performance, in our products and in our people. We expect a lot, and we invest a lot in return, with real mentorship from the engineers and designers behind Emmy-winning broadcasts. Our team thrives on curiosity, ownership and helping each other get better.
We’re an office-first team working across time zones. Whether you join us in the Netherlands or Hungary, you’ll be part of a wider group that collaborates every day.
We hire for ability, not just credentials. Show us what you’ve built. Strong candidates typically bring:
An excellent degree, bootcamp or standout project experience in their chosen discipline
Deep curiosity about how things work, and the confidence to figure things out
Evidence of shipping things: apps, projects, portfolios, open-source contributions
Strong communication skills, because you’ll work closely with engineers, designers and product teams from day one
Comfort with ambiguity, and the drive to learn quickly with the support around you
An interest in sport and how technology changes the way fans experience it (a bonus, not essential)
Start date: September 2027
Location: Alkmaar, Netherlands (HQ) or Budapest, Hungary
